Doing Your Research: Michael Tsoukas

When you are working in a field of work that involves the well-being of other people, it is necessary to  provide evidence-based medicine based on new research and published literature. Michael Tsoukas is a certified medical doctor, and licensed to practice medicine in the United States, Europe, and Canada. Michael Tsoukas knows that research is a very important aspect of medicine, and he takes it very seriously. Michael Tsoukas is currently working on several different clinical research projects involving human metabolism, as well as some more basic science protocols in the same field of interest. Michael Tsoukas knows that when dealing with medicine and being a doctor, the ability to translate your research findings into therapies and treatments for patients is equally rewarding to both the patient and the researcher. 

Research has been a large part of Michael Tsoukas’ life for many years. While attending medical school, Michael Tsoukas was captivated by after-hours research projects and studying in order to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a doctor. He was able to do just that, seeing as he graduated with honors from medical school in 2008. Michael Tsoukas then completed further specialty training at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where he continues his research interests to this date.

Now that Michael Tsoukas has his MD, he continues to fulfill his thirst for furthering his medical knowledge, leading to improved patient interventions and therapies. Michael Tsoukas is involved with multiple basic and clinical research projects in his areas of interest. Michael Tsoukas also has ongoing research with presentations at international conferences and publications. Research is an integral part of being a great translational bench-to-bedside physician.  Michael Tsoukas maintains his research activity to lead to more discoveries in his specialty medical field. Michael Tsoukas says that you should pursue research only if you truly possess that extra passion for new knowledge, recognizing that disappointment is always possible.
